Nowadays there is such a fine line between profit and loss, that Custodian Operations Managers are constantly seeking ways to increase efficiency without increasing cost.  Yet, many of us are operating as our industry has been operating for many years.  For example, whenever there is a need to reduce an operating cost, a custodian’s assignment would be changed to include one more area to clean.  There is no record of this change.  Then when another cost reduction is needed, the assignment would be increased again.  If the custodian cannot perform what is now expected, management would bring in a contract cleaning operation, or change current contract cleaning firm.

Today, every employee of our in-house staff, responsible for 6.3 million square feet of our facilities, has easy-to-read job schedules and project work assignments.
